My second two years

My second two years saw a 50% growth in business, and customers from even more countries around the world (New list = Australia, Austria, Canada, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Cayman Islands, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Korea, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, and United States).

In these two years, I serviced ~150 bodies, sold ~350 foam kits, received ~300 positive (0 negative) feedbacks on eBay, and had a further 10,000 hits on my F2 repair web site (highest count was 651 hits per month).

To firmly establish myself as the best repairer, I purchased the best commercial camera tester available (Kyoritsu EF-8301) and an older professional camera tester that was used in the F2 era (Kyoritsu FL-400). My workshop became better equipped than many Nikon authorised repair shops. Also, I made more unique tools and perfected all my techniques. Hence I was able to offer an unprecedented zero damage pledge, and that I would give a better F2 to a customer if I damaged his. Needless to say, I never gave any of my F2s away : )

I didn't have time to draft my F2 book in these two years, as I had some house renovations to finish off, but in my spare time I made a number of unique F2s for myself : F2 Info, F2 Recorder, F2SA, Vertical MB-1 with MF-1 switch. So it was some work, some rest, and some play. A Nikon F2 a day, kept the doctor away.

Happy F2 shooting,

Sover
